Growing up next to the ocean in West Maui, it’s pretty easy to want to try to protect the plants and animals that we share the island with. My dad started bringing my sister and I to community events, and my love of native plants took off from there. It’s very satisfying to see their progress and know that it has a direct impact on ocean quality.
